How did this patient hear about the Riverside? SW at Lenox Hill

Details of Experience:

Mr. Sugarman was admitted to Lenox Hill Hospital on April 19, 2017. His wife explains that for some time he had been declining and she was concerned. It came to a point where Mr. Sugarman was unable to go to the bathroom when his wife realized something was not right. They arrived to the hospital where Mr. Sugarman was admitted with a diagnosis of Pneumonia. Mr. Sugarman was in the hospital for a little more than two weeks and when he was ready to be discharged the physician team recommended he transfer to a sub-acute short term rehab facility.

Mr. Sugarman and his wife were introduced to one of Riverside’s patient liaisons at the hospital who walked them through the entire process to be transferred to The Riverside. On May 4th Mr Sugarman was transferred from Lenox Hill Hospital to The Riverside Premier Rehabilitation and Healing Center.

When Mr. Sugarman arrived, the interdisciplinary team greeted him and conducted their own personal evaluations to evaluate what Mr. Sugarman’s needs were. Mr. Sugarman’s wife explains how difficult it can be transferring to another facility. She explains how soon after Mr. Sugarman arrived he began physical and occupational therapy. She pauses right away and explains how impressed she is by the gym and her husband’s therapist both during the week and the weekend. She shared how amazed she is that when he first arrived he needed a tremendous amount of oxygen and he could barely move. Now he is barely on the oxygen and he is walking around! She is truly amazed by how when he first came in she didn’t know what to think and now she is so happy to see how much progress was accomplished.

Everyday there is progress and he is getting better and better with the assistance of the great nursing team especially some of the nurse aids that assist him with his care. Mrs. Sugarman is happy to share that she is happy and excited to see that her husband will be going home very soon.
