How did this patient hear about Quality Center for Rehabilitation & Healing? Heard about our wonderful Physical ,Occupational , Speech and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program, he decided to give Quality a try.

Details of Experience:

Upon arrival, Mr. Gross could not walk even 50 feet without exhaustion and shortness of breath. Soon after Mr.Gross was met by Frankie Webb (Physical Therapist) and Lee Ann (Respiratory Therapist) evaluated and immediately put on an intense care plan that included: Therapeutic exercises, Gait training therapy, Manual therapy techniques, and many therapeutic activities.

Mr. Gross, while living alone at home was sometimes non-compliant and liked to do things his way and often not following Doctor’s orders such as being responsible and taking his breathing treatments and exercising properly. Once a routine was established, Mr. Gross immediately started seeing results and everyone got excited with his progress! This encouragement inspired him to push a little harder.

During his therapeutic journey, it was discovered that Mr. Gross had trouble sleeping in the bed because it made his breathing more difficult. So they got him a nice easy chair to help him get sleep and rest so he would be more alert for therapy. And they also found that he had high functioning anxiety and depression associated with his condition so, the Quality therapy team discovered Mr.Gross’s love of music and food. The team decided to use music as a way to relax him and to also help take his mind off of any pain or keeping him focused and no time to think of any excuses to quit or put his hard work off. Also, food was a great motivator too, and was his motivation to walk!

Within a few weeks of intense Physical therapy and a steady regimen of medication, breathing treatments and lots of encouragement , Mr. Gross has a discharge date of 9/26/2017, just a few days over one month. He is now ready to return home and continue with Home Health Care. Mr. Gross came in and could only stand for a minute or less and ambulate less than 50 feet without getting out of breath or feeling dizzy. Now he can stand for 5 -10 minutes and ambulate 250-275 feet without breathing hard. And with follow up Mr. Gross continues to progress and is living life to the fullest. We here at Quality center for Rehabilitation and Healing want to wish Mr. Gross much success in his journey to better Health!
