How did this patient hear about Jupiter Rehabilitation? The VA
Details of experience:
Michele was staying at Heartland Healthcare receiving therapy after falling and fracturing her femur. During her stay at Heartland, she suffered a stroke. Prior to her stay, Michele was a very independent person living on her own. She lived a very active life, so it was difficult when she suffered a stroke. She served our country in the Army, and not being able to be mobile and do things for herself was difficult.
Michele arrived at Jupiter Rehab on November 20th, 2020. At the time of her admission, she required maximum assistance for her activities of daily living, using the restroom, bed mobility, transfers, and ambulation. She worked hard every single day during her therapy sessions. She would even perform the exercises that the therapists would do with her, on her own, to help strengthen herself. Michele extended her stay twice. She felt that our therapy team was so great and supportive. She wanted to stay to receive as much help and learn from our therapy team. She wanted to make sure that she was strong enough prior to discharge. After weeks of hard work, countless obstacles and dedication, Michele was able to be discharged! At her time of discharge, she was modified independent level for all her activities of daily living and mobility.
While she was with the community, Michele enjoyed her stay immensely. She loved the staff, and she thought they were nice and caring and enjoyed being able to get to know them. She even became really great friends with one of her roommates. They were always laughing and having a good time, it was so nice to see their happiness. They exchanged numbers so that could stay in touch after her roommate left. Michele was such a pleasure to have and it was great seeing how she improved every day.
The team is so proud of the hard work she put in and to see her walk out of our building and go home was such a great feeling! They miss her and wish her all the best!
