On Wednesday, December 9th, we celebrated our annual New York Partnership Gala with Urban Zen, an integrative therapy program founded by Donna Karan.

The Urban Zen Integrative Therapy program’s main focus is “to change the current healthcare paradigm to include integrative medicine and promote patient advocacy.” With the Urban Zen program, two of our communities, St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Suffolk County, Long Island, and The Riverside Premier Rehabilitation and Healing Center in Manhattan, currently offer patients Reiki, Essential Oil Therapy, Yoga Therapy, and mindfulness practices.

The evening began with a special Physician’s Symposium discussing the Urban Zen program with panelists Donna Karan, Rodney Yee, Colleen Saidman-Yee and Dr. Christopher Glenn, Medical Director of The Riverside. Following the symposium, over 300 guests were in attendance for the Gala that was held in the Urban Zen Soulful Economy Marketplace.

In line with our mission of fostering and providing unprecedented levels of genuine care and customer service for our communities’ Rehabilitation and Nursing needs, in a soothing, tranquil and state-of-the-art environment, CareRite Centers and Urban Zen are dedicated to putting the “care” back in healthcare.
