Details of Experience:

On 10/22/16, Sandra Watson was admitted to Beeghly Oaks with a diagnosis of weakness in result of a post-operative cardiac procedure. Sandra shared that she was so weak, she hardly remembered arriving to the Beeghly Oaks community. Upon admission, she was unable to transfer, dress herself, or perform other activities of daily living without moderate assistance. It was a pleasure and inspiration to see Sandra walking through the halls when she participated in physical therapy daily as well as being present in the gym while working on balance. Sandra did very well working with alongside the occupational therapists to regain her independence. Throughout her journey, Sandra was anxious to return home and had a goal to return to her level of functioning prior to her surgery. While at Beeghly Oaks, Sandra loved to read, play word games, watch TV, and very much enjoyed crafts.

The interdisciplinary team at Beeghly Oaks whole-heartedly found Sandra to be a wonderful conversationist with the biggest smile. On 12/10/16, after just over six weeks of rehabilitation, Sandra was able to return home while walking independently, dressing, transferring, and walking up and down steps with no assistive device independently! Congratulations, Sandra on your outstanding achievements in regaining functional independence!
