How did this patient hear about Beeghly Oaks Center? Social Worker at Vibra Specialty Hospital
Miss. Roth arrived at Beeghly Oaks Center for Rehabilitation and Healing on February 10, 2017 from an inpatient hospitalization at Vibra Specialty Hospital in Boardman, Ohio. Miss Roth arrived at Beeghly in February, 2017 with a diagnosis of painful osteomyelitis in many joints, which required foot surgery for a bone biopsy and removal of surrounding non-viable tissue. Melissa’s clinical picture was further complicated by obstacles presented by other diagnosis, which delayed her healing process and indicated a non-weight bearing status on her foot for an extended period of time.
Melissa was warmly greeted by multiple professionals of Team Beeghly whom anticipated her arrival. Within the first 24 hours, she was greeted by clinicians, therapists, physicians, administrative staff and many other valued members of the team to welcome her and answer any questions that she or her family may have had. Her physical therapist, Dean, and occupational therapist began her therapy program at bedside to evaluate her current state of health and mobility in conjunction with her most recent therapy/clinical notes from Vibra.
Melissa remained positive during her prolonged stay at Beeghly taking part in Activities and independent outdoor excursions. We attribute great credit to Melissa as she commonly represented great tenacity, leading her to triumph as she completed her home assessment accompanied by our Rehab Staff. She was thus nearing her return home and the beginning of a new chapter of personal wellness!
Melissa shared her three most prized positive happenings while at Beeghly:
- Her Diabetes is now under control
- She became independent
- Because of Therapy, she is ready to meet the world!!!
Melissa shared that she also enjoyed the painting classes, bingo, and crafts in Recreation! She showed great love for the Concierge program as Carol was always available to speak with her and assist her. It was important to have plan of care meetings with the staff; they were very thorough.
Melissa will be missed but we wish her much success; she is such a kind and sweet person and loves life. Bless you and much happiness for your healthy future!
