Details of Experience:

This patient was admitted to Hospitality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing with a right hip fracture and a right femoral neck fracture. When she arrived, she was dependent for ADLs. Prior to fall, she lived independently and used a cane to walk at times. She was independent in all her ADLs. Upon admission she stated her expectations for therapy: “To get back on my feet.” She had a very positive experience at Hospitality. When asked about her first impressions, she said, “I was scared at first, but I’ve liked it. Everyone is so nice. It’s hard not to like everyone.”

She had very positive things to say about the therapy team. “Therapy can be tiresome. They seem to be knowledgeable and know so much. It’s going well. “She had steady improvement with her mobility and stability during her therapy treatment. She received therapy up to 7 times a week. She was given a wheelchair at admission, but was using her walker more during the end of her stay.

When asked about her therapy experience during her discharge evaluation, she replied, “Therapy has been good for me. The harder they pushed, the more I enjoyed it. I had the determination to go home. I did what they asked of me.” Her determination and spirit was evident as she pushed through therapy to do better than she expected. She was able to get back on her feet and walk long distances with assistance.

Overall, she was very grateful for Hospitality and their team. “This place has made my stay. It’s better than most places. I wouldn’t be as well as I am. You guys have all been great.”
She was discharged from Hospitality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing on May 2nd, 2016, 32 days after admission after meeting all therapeutic goals. She is continuing to get home therapy and nursing services.
