Patient came to Platinum Ridge extremely ill. He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and a newly diagnosed diabetic. He was allowed to transfer and ambulate himself as well as being independent with care. Being a newly diagnosed diabetic, he was unsure about how to give himself insulin. He was taught how to finger prick and our Director of Nursing, Meredith Fraser, provided him with a booklet of information for diabetic teaching. During his short stay at Platinum Ridge, he made an impact on every person he met with his positive attitude. He loves comedy so he spent his days here telling jokes and sharing stories and truly making the best of his sickness. Once his antibiotics were finished, he was discharged with a 100% recovery and a great outlook on life. He couldn’t wait to get back to his garden and to go fishing with his uncle. Lucky for Platinum Ridge, he was able to grace us with his presence during our Polka Fest event and told his story of his recovery to all of our guests. Tim was truly an inspiration to all.
