How did this patient hear about Platinum Ridge? Lives locally.

Mr. Finley was at Platinum Ridge in therapy about 2 weeks. He was admitted following a left total knee replacement. Prior to surgery, Mr. Finley was independent with all self-care, functional mobility. Upon admission he required minimal to maximum assistance with ADL tasks, minimal assist with mobility/transfers.He presented with fair balance during all ADL tasks when standing. This resident demonstrated impulsivity and recklessness when first admitted. Throughout Gary’s stay he demonstrated increased independence with ADL’S . He increased his ability with transfers to modified independence with use of a wheeled walker. Gary would use 3-4lbs weights while completing exercises increasing to 5lbs. weights, demonstrating increased bilateral upper extremity strength and transfers. Gary was able to complete all ADL’S with modified independence upon discharge. Gary’s safety also increased, he demonstrated decreased impulsivity. The best part about treating Gary was we were able to send him home with modified independence. Gary was very pleased with the therapy /stay he had here that he returned 3 days later with a cake for the staff!
