How did this patient hear about the Riverside? SW at Bellevue Hospital

Details of Experience:

Patient arrived to The Riverside to get treated for an ulcer he had in his right leg. He also had a picc line to receive antibiotics and a wound vac to accumulate the discharge from his wound. As soon as he arrived to The Riverside the staff cared for him and really ensured that he was on the way to full recovery. At first the Patient was met by the outstanding Clinical Team who got all his medical history, had a look at his wound and completed a full intake. Once that was done one of the nurses ensured that he was comfortable, acclimating to The Riverside and feeling at home. The nursing staff on the floor also made sure that the Patient received all the proper medications he needed throughout his stay.

The next morning Patient met with the rehab therapist who assessed and evaluated him, the therapist discussed where he was prior to the incident so that, that would be the goal for his therapy. He got right down to work the following day and it really has been uphill since. He looked forward to rehab everyday where his therapists worked with him 1:1 and gave him the proper attention so that he was able to focus on getting back to full mobility. Being that Mr. Walker is a diabetic, a proper healthy lifestyle was really important to him and the dietary staff at The Riverside were there for the Patient every step of the way. The morning after he was admitted, he met with the dietician assigned to his floor and she was able to setup a proper diabetic menu for him that he really enjoyed. The dietician taught him how to eat healthy moving forward and he is very confident going home soon that he will be able to take the valuable information with him so that he can live a much healthier life. The wound team was absolutely amazing, keeping a close eye on his wound and making sure it was getting better every day while bandaging it on a daily basis.

He feels that his stay at The Riverside has been a blessing, the nurse manager, nurses and nurses aids from the tenth floor were so caring and helpful throughout his recovery. His therapists have really helped him get back to full mobility that he feels like a new person, the wound and dietary teams taught him how to properly take care of his body so that he never has to look back and only forward to the bright future.
