How did this patient hear about the Riverside? Son works in Mount Sinai and referred

Details of Experience:

Patient was admitted to The Riverside for short term rehab, he says the reason why he needed a rehab center was that for many years he did not live a healthy lifestyle and made bad choices which caused him to attract a terrible infection in his left leg. The doctors at Mount Sinai had tried to stop the infection at his ankle but unfortunately could not, the infection spread up to his knee which caused him to receive a leg amputation from above the knee.
When Patient arrived to The Riverside he felt he was a mess but now says he feels like a million dollars. He attributes that to the wonderful amazing staff here at The Riverside, he says the staff are attentive, caring, right on point and knowledgeable. They all make him feel right at home even though he is not and this has really helped him heal and fell better about himself.

Rehab has been a real instrumental part in his recovery and healing process, he receives an hour of physical therapy in the morning which focuses on his lower body and an hour of occupational therapy in the afternoon which focuses more on his upper body. The nutritious meals here have also been a big part for Mr. Ortiz’s recovery, the dietician assigned to his floor met him when he was admitted to setup a healthy menu so that Patient can maintain a strong and healthy diet while he is recovering. Patient really feels that all this has set him up for the future so that when he gets home he can implement all that he has learned from the rehab and dietary teams to start living a much healthier fulfilling life.
One of the highlights that stands out in his mind is the Walking School with Todd and Dennis who have been mentoring him and giving him the strength and courage to deal with his recent amputation and to go back to being a normal member of society.

Patient finishes off by saying that the staff really do care about him and it is not superficial, it is from the heart and that has given him the strength to heal and recover so that he will be back to his normal self living a much better life.
