How did this patient hear about The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation & Nursing Center? Family members were here.

Ms. Linda Williams was admitted to The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in April of 2018. Prior to arriving at The Chateau, Linda was a resident at another rehab center in New Jersey trying to recover from heart complications, which made her unable to walk. She was very unhappy with the care she was receiving in that facility; and after speaking with her siblings who live in New York and have been residents at The Chateau, she decided to transfer herself to The Chateau in order to continue her road to recovery in a positive environment.

Upon arrival at The Chateau, Linda was excited to see a complete turnaround in her care and therapy treatments. She came to The Chateau unable to get out of bed or walk, and she had major difficulties taking care of her activities of daily living. She started working with her therapist, Eugene, to be able to get back to her independent self. After spending some time in therapy, she was seeing remarkable progress in her ability to walk and her ability to take care of herself. After only a few weeks she was already walking with a walker and able to get out of bed without assistance. She was also able to dress herself and take care of her ADLs on her own.

Aside from the therapy, Linda has been so happy with her entire experience at The Chateau. She took a few minutes to sit down with the staff and expressed her gratitude to everyone. Linda said, “The Chateau is a superior state-of-the-art facility. All of the staff members are compassionate, caring and go above and beyond to take care of their patient. The therapy department helped motivate me and got me walking and eating without the need of assistance. I loved the fact that my physical therapist was a doctor in his country before coming to America; it made him so much more knowledgeable. There is a great management team that helps keep the staff motivated and constantly on their toes. All in all, I am so happy to have made the decision to come to The Chateau because if I was still in the facility in New Jersey I doubt I would be able to do all the things that I am doing now.”

The staff at The Chateau is very excited in anticipation for Linda’s discharge home and are working together with her to make sure everything goes smoothly. Everyone at The Chateau will miss Linda’s smile in the lobby, but we are happy knowing that the work that the staff did with her has helped her achieve her goal of going back to her independent life.
