How did this patient hear about the Riverside? SW at Mount Sinai

Details of Experience:

Miss Sapp was admitted from Mount Sinai Hospital to The Riverside on May 11, 2016. She was a admitted with a diagnosis of Lumbar Stenosis and a Laminectomy. Upon her admission, Miss Sapp was evaluated by the interdisciplinary team at The Riverside and was set up on the intense rehab program that The Riverside Rehab Team offers. The nursing team was also able to ensure all Miss Sapp’s medical and clinical needs were being met throughout her stay. Miss Sapp’s daughter says very proudly that she didn’t leave her mom’s bedside at the hospital but just after a few days at The Riverside she felt comfortable and relaxed to leave her mom in the very capable hands of the team at The Riverside.

Miss Sapp’s road to recovery began as soon as she was admitted with nursing providing her necessary meds and medical care as well as dietary getting her meal preferences. Soon after the rehab team did their initial assessment and evaluation to get Miss Sapp on program as soon as possible. Once Miss Sapp began her therapy she started making progress immediately. Just a few short weeks later she felt much better and finally back to herself. The Medical and Rehab Teams felt it was safe to send Miss Sapp home back to the community she loves. Miss Sapp’s daughter described the experience for her mom to be really one of a kind, “from all the nursing staff to the social workers and the dietician, they all showed compassion to my mother especially when she first came in and she was just getting acclimated. The staff really created a relationship with my mother and even me especially the Medical Director, Dr. Glenn, he really spent time with me and my mom explaining everything to us so clearly and patiently. I would recommend The Riverside to anyone, it was a great experience.”
