Details of experience:
Marguerite H.’s story begins on February 28, 2020. Marguerite lives with her husband, Robert, in their home of 40 years. In that early morning in February, Marguerite fell and was found by her husband. He didn’t know the reason for the fall; and she could not recall, as she suffers from dementia. Robert called 911 and Marguerite was taken to Jupiter Medical Center. Upon arrival, she complained of ankle pain. She was transported to radiology for an x-ray of her ankle. The x-ray showed that she fractured her ankle and that the fracture was serious enough to require surgery.

Mrs. H. arrived at Jupiter Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on March 6, 2020. She was a non-weight bearing on her right leg and required extensive assistance for all mobility and transfers. Additionally, she required assistance with her activities of daily living, such as bathing and going to the restroom.

Marguerite worked hard, week after week, with therapy and she progressed every week. After all the intensive therapy, the patient was able to perform all mobility and activities of daily living at the supervision level. She was given the all-clear to return home with her husband, Robert, on June 2, 2020.

Marguerite enjoyed her time here at Jupiter and celebrated 65 years of marriage with her husband! Robert came and visited her every single day, even when COVID precautions restricted visitation, he would come for window visits each and every morning.

Team Jupiter wishes her all the best and hopes she’s doing well!
