Details of Experience:

Mrs. Klasen is a 71 y/o female who was admitted to the emergency room on April 4, 2024, for generalized weakness for one week. Before going to the hospital, she had a fall and one prior hospitalization. She was admitted to Jupiter on April 4, 2024, at 5:30 pm from St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach.
When she arrived at our community, the patient met our receptionist, Debra, and Exy, the Nursing Supervisor. As she settled in her room, she met with Unyla, her nurse for the evening, and her CNA, Moulouse.

The following day, as Concierge, I met with the patient and gave Patricia her Jupiter Admission Gift. She was very thankful for everything and shared that she was diagnosed with Rhabdomyolysis, a condition in which skeletal muscle breaks down rapidly. She explained what it was and how it affected muscle weakness.

Her intention while she was at Jupiter, was to get stronger and to get back to her husband. She expressed to me that she missed him very much. I contacted him and told him what she needed clothing-wise at Jupiter. I also suggested that I get him an Uber. He was so pleased. When he arrived, I took him to her room. I asked him to stay in the hallway, and when I went to her room, I told her I had a little surprise for her, then I asked him to come in. They were so happy to see each other. It made my heart so happy. I told them both to take their time, and when he was ready to go home, I just asked the receptionist to page me, and I would get him an Uber home.

Mrs. Klasen said she could not thank us enough for everything we did. She went home with mobility and could perform the activities of daily living (ADLs) at a supervision level. She was discharged on June 3, 2024. I told her it was our honor to care for her. We wish her the very best for the next phase of her journey.
