How did this patient hear about Nashville Center? Daughter, ADON @ Nashville Center

Details of Experience:
Mr. Jesse G. arrived at Nashville Center for Rehabilitation and Healing on January 9, 2021. Prior to being admitted to our community, Jesse was at Northeast Georgia Medical Center due to shortness of breath. Jesse has had no significant past medical history and has been very independent working strenuous jobs throughout his life, so the sudden shortness of breath was something new for him. Jesse was admitted to the hospital on December 8, 2020, incapacitated and short of breath. A friend called EMS for him after finding him down in his residence. Upon arrival, he was saturating 40% on room air, at which they placed him on 15 Liters non-rebreather and his saturation improved to 90%. Jesse was tested for COVID-19 on December 9, 2020, and received the devastating news that he was positive for COVID-19. He remained at the hospital, completed the recommended treatment course. After successful completion of the treatment, Jesse decided to come to Nashville Center to be close to his daughter.

As the hospital discharge day approached, Jesse knew he wanted to be closer to his daughter who is an RN in Nashville so that she could help manage his care. On his discharge date, his daughter Jenn drove to Northeast Georgia Medical Center to pick up her father and transport him into the care of Nashville Center, where he would embark on his journey to healing! Jesse arrived at Nashville Center on Saturday, January 9th. Jesse was greeted by Nashville Center’s wonderful staff upon arrival. Sunday, Jesse was evaluated by the therapy team, at which time they immediately began treatment.

Jesse stated he was very much on board with coming to Nashville Center, especially since his daughter worked in the community. She would be able to check in on him regularly. Jesse stated that coming here was night and day from the hospital. When the concierge asked him how his stay was going and how he felt he was doing in regards to being on track for rehabilitation, he stated, “Within the first week I’ve been making progress and my progress has continued to go forward. The therapy crew is wonderful. They know how to push me when I need it.”

Jesse arrived at the community requiring supplemental oxygen but has since been completely weaned off of oxygen, two weeks prior to his anticipated discharge. Jesse is no stranger to tough situations and having to push through, and he did just that while he was at Nashville Center. He powered through therapy six times a week with dedication and strength, Jesse was able to bounce back to his normal status prior to COVID.

The team absolutely loved having Jesse with them at Nashville Center and thank him for trusting in them to help with his healing therapy.
