Every individual is emotionally affected to some degree by a traumatic experience. For patients recovering from an illness, accident, a medical procedure, or any other traumatic experience, it is essential for recovery to address not only their physical needs, but their emotional response to the event as well.

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, under the direction of Board Certified Pulmonologists, enables people with chronic lung diseases like COPD, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis to lead full, satisfying lives and restore them to their highest functional capacity.

The program addresses the physical as well as the emotional aspects of these conditions, with a focus on medical management, exercise, breathing regulation, emotional support and nutrition counseling. We also focus on long term goals, making sure our patients have the information they need to stay healthy and make informed decisions once they leave our community. Certified Respiratory Therapists educate patients and their families through one-on-one training, written materials and/or group classes to enable them to take control of their condition, reduce complications, and improve physical and emotional well-being.
