Details of Experience:
Patient was admitted to St. James Rehab Center after her seven day stay in SBUH for cardiac issues including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, hypertension, and non-ST elevation myocardial infarction. She came to us with decreased endurance, decreased mobility, increased weakness, and shortness of breath on exertion. She needed maximum assistance when performing her ADLS. She attended PT and OT six times a week to improve balance, increase activity tolerance, increase and strengthen muscle, improve safety, and regain optimal independence and ADL functionality. Along with PT and OT, she worked with the respiratory therapist for cardiopulmonary rehab. She attended weekly and made great strides; her ability to perform activities, ambulate, and endurance without fatiguing improve and her confidence grew. Due to her compliance with her medication regiment and education she received on her medication, she remained stable through out stay. Upon discharge she was perform ADLs independently, ambulating with supervision, and had returned to her prior level of independence.
