Details of Experience:
Mr. H. Ramos was admitted to The Riverside on June 6, 2016. Mr. Ramos had a right hip replacement in Bellevue hospital and was transferred to The Riverside for short-term rehab. Mr. Ramos also had a past history of a heart condition and had open heart surgery.
Mrs. Ramos came down to The Riverside for a tour to see if she felt The Riverside would be appropriate for her husband for short-term rehab. As part of the many amenities at The Riverside we were able to offer Mrs. Ramos transportation with our chauffeur service from the hospital to The Riverside and back to alleviate the hardships of traveling to The Riverside with public transportation. Once Mrs. Ramos arrived for her tour she realized right away this was the place for her husband to recover and for her husband to receive the therapy and care he needed. Soon after the tour Mr. Ramos arrived from Bellevue hospital and began the final leg of his journey to recovery. Mrs. Ramos really wanted her husband to come to The Riverside but knew it would be very hard for her to come across town with her daughter to come visit and that’s where the team at the Riverside were there yet again to help. Several times a week throughout his stay, Mrs. Ramos got picked up from her front door with her daughter by The Riversides chauffeur service and was dropped off home later that day! Mrs. Ramos recalls what a gentleman the driver was and what a help and relief it was to know that something was off her plate and that she was available to support her husband fully in his recovery.
Mr. Ramos received his therapy sessions twice daily throughout his stay and recovered and saw progress every day, Mrs. Ramos recalls how the staff were very pleasant, nice and helpful. The therapists gave Mr. Ramos their undivided attention to ensure more efficient outcomes so that Mr. Ramos would be able to go home as soon as possible. As Mr. Ramos was being discharged we met him and his wife in the lobby and they expressed how much they appreciate everyone at The Riverside for all their support and will forever be grateful.
