Details of Experience:
Mrs. Eula Webb was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, with a diagnosis of a liver abscess. On March 26th, 2019, Mrs. Webb transferred to our home, Bethany Center for Rehabilitation and Healing, for continued care and therapy treatment. Upon arrival, Mrs. Webb expressed her emotional barriers to confronting her current health challenges. With Bethany Center’s understanding of supporting all needs, the staff promptly provided support, empathy, and hands-on care.

Mrs. Webb was promptly greeted and settled in by administrative staff, therapy, clinicians, and several other professionals who all answered any questions she had. She was then introduced to our concierge, who expanded the opportunity to gather more information to include learning that Mrs. Webb has a total of 17 children, who all play a significant role in her care and wellbeing!

With teamwork, Bethany Center quickly took on the role, not only ensuring Mrs. Webb was comfortable and satisfied as a patient, but also welcoming her loving family.

Experiencing discomfort as she eagerly tried to participate in therapeutic exercises, Mrs. Webb soon discovered pushing herself to her limits could hinder her from a full and safe recovery. With the discomfort from her pain limiting her abilities to participate 100% in therapy, Mrs. Webb’s body began to weaken. Determined to return to her independence, Mrs. Webb worked extremely well with Will, her physical therapist, and Nadia, in occupational therapy.

They set goals for her to soon accomplish step-by-step. Some of the goals included functional mobility with a walker, upper body strength exercises, hip education, and coordination with ankles to help with her balance. Mrs. Webb is now capable of walking with no equipment with little-to-no assistance! She was one of our top bingo champions and always enjoyed participating in various amounts of other activities. There was a boost in her confidence and her social skills improved drastically. Her interactions with others were inviting, uplifting, and heartening. With the help of the Bethany Center staff, her family, and great determination, Mrs. Webb enjoyed a successful recovery.

Mrs. Webb was a delight to be around during her journey here at Bethany. Her sense of humor and smile could brighten up the darkest days. Mrs. Webb’s family states “thank you all for all of your help, we greatly appreciate it.”

Her presence is missed dearly and we would like to thank her for choosing Bethany Center to be a part of her journey. We are wishing her the best on her accomplishment of returning back home. She has successfully discharged home with home health on May 16th, 2019 and she states, “All it takes is having patience and determination.” Job well done!
