Details of Experience:
Mrs. Melissa Angel arrived at Quality Center for Rehabilitation & Healing on April 8, 2021, from a previous stay at Vanderbilt Wilson Medical Center in Lebanon, TN. Mrs. Angel was referred to Quality Center for 24/7 skilled nursing care, occupational and physical therapy due to having spinal surgery for cervical fusion caused by spinal cord compression.

Upon Melissa’s return to Quality Center, She was greeted by several members of our professional team. Melissa was welcomed back within his first 24 hours by our administrative staff, clinicians, therapist physicians, and other team members.

Mrs. Angel was also greeted by the Director of Concierge, Miss Kay Weir, who presented her with a CareRite Welcome Bag. Kay explained the services she provides to all the residents, family, and staff. Therapist Steven Hunter performed Mrs. Angel’s assessment. The patient was an assist x1 with all her activities of daily living and standby assist with transfers and toileting. The Therapy Team set goals for Mrs. Angel to return her to her normal living lifestyle independently with limited assistance. Working on strengthening, gait, balance, and her daily living activities were some of the goals. A great challenge lay ahead of her; on her previous stay, before spinal surgery, she lost nearly all of the mobility in her limbs.

After several weeks of hard work and dedication, Mrs. Melissa made good progress. Mrs. Angel’s primary focus is to get better and hold her four-month-old grandbaby. Melissa has gone from being assist x1 in all her daily activities to setup assist, including feeding herself, bathing, etc. Mrs. Angel has regained most of the independence that she lost before spinal surgery. She is now walking 350 feet with her platform walker.

Mrs. Angel was discharged back to her home, where she will receive assistance from her family. She was also set with follow-up appointments and with Adoration home care until she’s ultimately able to take care of herself. Melissa was very appreciative of all the services she received during her stay here in our community.

She wanted to thank the entire team for a wonderful stay and commend everyone for our outstanding hospitality.
