Details of Experience:
Mrs. Helen arrived at Quality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing on December 22nd, 2020, following a stay at NHC Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Wright was referred to Quality Center in need of occupational therapy and physical therapy. Mrs. Helen had previously been hospitalized at St. Thomas Midtown after undergoing neck and back surgery on November 9th, 2020, leaving her weak with very little mobility and needing physical therapy. She was referred to NHC Rehab, where she had some therapy until she was discharged. She was then referred to Quality Center for additional services.

Upon Mrs. Helen’s arrival, she was greeted by several members of our professional team. Within his first 24 hours, Mrs. Helen met with clinicians, therapists, our physician, administrative staff, and other members of our team, who welcomed her and answered all questions. Helen was also greeted by the Director of Concierge, Kay Weir, who presented her with a CareRite welcome bag and her warm attentiveness, which she provides to all of the Quality residents and families.

Helen met with our therapy department, and she was evaluated for PT and OT to strengthen her knees and mobility. Mrs. Helen was total assistance of all activities of her daily living and non-weight-bearing in severe pain. Helen and her husband, alone, working with therapy, set goals working toward getting her back to being more independent, more mobile, and doing self-care. Her pain level was coming along well.

Mrs. Helen has made incredible progress in the last few months. In the beginning, she was non-weight-bearing, total assistance of all ADLs and bed mobility transfers. She has moved from 2-5 strength to 4-5. She’s now able to stand up for 10 minutes, standby by assist, and she is able to bathe dress and self toilet. She can now walk 200 feet on her walker standby assist. Mrs. Helen and her husband are very pleased with how far she’s come and very thankful to the entire Quality Team for all that every department has done for her. She loves all the many friendships she has gained while being in the community. She shared how much she loves her roommate. She highly recommends our facility.

As Helen continues to heal and recover, she wishes to remain with us for a little while longer until she is fully comfortable returning back to the community with her husband and loving family, who are patiently waiting to receive her.

Quality will continue to support Helen until then fully.
